We Won 2 stars last year for our Hand Cut Marmalade and this year we have done it again with our Lady Windsor’s Rich Seville. Darren Marsh and Tess Slater make all our preserves and have this year won the World Marmalade Festival. For them to pick up another industry award for their marmalade shows that they really do make the best marmalade available. Buy

John Brereton our head butcher and Elwin Morgan our Stockman have won many awards but until now had not entered our beef in to the Great Taste Awards. On our first outing we have picked up a 2 Star award for our sirloin steak which is also one of our best sellers. All our beef is reared on our estate, hung at the Food Centre and prepared with skill by our butchers so it’s been a real team effort to win this award. Buy

Julie Hawkins roasts and grinds coffee in our coffee roasting room. She has been working on, and improving, our Espresso blend since she started and we are so proud of her winning her first award. We will shortly be making this most excellent coffee available for purchase online.

Following our regional success we were put forward to represent the Heart of England in the Food category. We were shortlisted in the group of 5 regional winners and at a presentation ceremony in April we picked up the Silver Award. This is the greatest tourism accolade we have won and we are proud to be considered both an excellent food producer and tourist attraction.

We entered and won our regional tourism awards. We were the only Shropshire business to do so and progress to the national final. We beat off competition from hotels, restaurants and other farm shops so we’re really pleased to be the best food attraction in the Heart of England.

For the last three years we have made award winning marmalade but this year we took the top prize. Our Three Fruit Marmalade won ‘Double Gold’ making us officially the best marmalade makers in the world. Our Three Fruit variety includes Seville Orange, Pink Grapefruit and Lemon. It really packs a punch and is great for waking you up in the morning.

This variety is based on Lady Winsor’s very own recipe. It has been stocked in Fortum & Mason and is unusual because it is dark in colour. We use natural cane sugar and black treacle to give this marmalade a dark colour and rich flavour. Like all our marmalades we use Sevilles from a single co-operative in Spain and a little lemon to balance the flavours and create a sharp, mouth-watering breakfast treat. Buy

Our Hand Cut Marmalade won two awards in 2010 adding this Marmalade Festival Award to its Great Taste 2 Star Award. The Seville oranges are sourced from a single co-operative just outside Seville to guarantee the quality. There is also a lengthy process involved to make sure we capture all the fresh flavours. We hand cut the peel and make sure that the oranges are not over boiled as this spoils the flavour. The finished marmalade is sticky, sweet and zesty with fresh flavour and a strong orange kick. Buy

The first year we entered the World Marmalade Festival we won a gold which surprised us. We knew that we were making good quality marmalade but to win really helped the confidence of our makers. Our Lemon and Lime variety was favourite on this occasion. The lemons and limes create a really sharp, tangy and sweet marmalade which makes it great for waking you up in the morning. Buy

We are the best marmalade makers in the world and this is a fantastic traditional, handmade marmalade. We only use Seville oranges and these are juiced and sliced by hand so we keep complete control over every jar. The method has been tweaked over the years to produce a sharp, tangy, sweet ,delicious and award winning marmalade. We only add sugar, lemon juice and a little sweet orange to balance the flavours. Our Red Pepper Relish is made with fresh, sweet tangy peppers. We combine these with cherry tomatoes, onions and celery before adding mustard seeds and cayenne pepper to give a satisfying warmth. All the ingredients are prepared by hand and cooked in small batches to ensure the highest quality finished product. This relish can be used as a accompaniment to cold meat or a marinate for fresh meat. Try using it to marinate chicken or serve it with a ploughman’s lunch. Buy
