Kitchen
The Food Centre kitchen is a hive of activity. Though small, the kitchen supplies the shop, deli and cafe with an enormous selection of food. Particularly popular are the range of ready meals that include favourites like steak and kidney pie, lasagne and chilli con carne. All the raw ingredients used in the kitchen come from within the Centre itself which encourages the team to make with the seasons and be creative. The emphasis is on fresh local produce cooked in exciting and imaginative ways. One of the kitchen’s signature dishes is the Shropshire Fidget Pie which has been featured on the Hairy Bikers, Escape to the Country and was included in the BBC Good Food Guide. However, if you prefer something sweet there is nothing better than Shirley’s cheesecake which comes in a range of flavours including lemon, dark and white chocolate, and elderflower and lime.
