3 products shortlisted in Great British Food Awards

3 of Ludlow Food Centre’s handmade products have impressed the tasting panel at the Great British Food Awards and reached the shortlist where expert celebrity food judges are now busy taste testing the shortlist to pick the final winners, which will be announced later this summer.

The 3 products that Ludlow Food Centre have impressed the panel with is their Dry Cured Back Bacon entered into the ‘Best Bacon’ category, Mince Pies entered into the ‘Best Sweet Bake’ category, and Blood Orange & Gin Marmalade that was entered into the ‘Best Sweet preserve/sauce’ category.

The Great British Food Awards were launched in 2014 to celebrate the country’s finest home-grown ingredients, as well as the hard-working folk who produce and cook with them. This year, the awards are bigger and better than ever, with 20 award categories that represent the huge spectrum of fine farm produce on the market, the awards saw an unprecedented number of great quality entries. The awards seek out products with stellar British credentials, and close attention will be paid to the provenance of the ingredients. Celebrity judges, include Nathan Outlaw, Rosemary Shrager, Jimmy Doherty and Valentine Warner to mention a few.
